Katherine A. LaFlamme, MLIS, is a librarian, educator, author, and workshop facilitator with more than a decade of experience in academic librarianship. Her work focuses on information literacy, digital literacy, critical thinking, social justice, and emerging technologies in education.

Katherine is the author of three forthcoming books: Teaching AI Literacy: Strategies for Critical and Ethical Engagement (2027, Bloomsbury), Teaching Research in the Age of Reddit: Real-World Literacy for the Digital Generation (Bloomsbury), and Teaching Critical Information Literacy in Higher Education: Radical Theory, Empirical Research, and Pedagogical Practice (Routledge). 

Her scholarship has also appeared in The Journal of Academic Librarianship, The Reference Librarian, Education for Information, and Library Philosophy and Practice. She is a contributing author in Recipes for Mindfulness in Your Library (ALA).

As founder of The Traveling Librarian, Katherine provides live, virtual, and ready-to-use professional development workshops for educators, librarians, and community organizations. Her work combines research expertise, inclusive pedagogy, and democratic values to create meaningful learning experiences that foster critical inquiry, informed decision-making, and positive change.
